Enable 2FA in the web app
- Open Dashlane in a computer browser.
- From the Vault menu, choose Settings → Security settings and enable 2-factor authentication.
- Confirm your Master Password if requested.
- Choose verification at every login or only on new devices. Every-login verification requires an internet connection.
- Enter the phone number for recovery and continue.
Add Dashlane to Sign In
You can use Sign In, our authenticator app for codes on your iPhone.
- With the setup QR code on another screen, open Sign In and tap Add → Scan QR Code.
- Scan the code, review the account details, and tap Add Account.
- Enter the current code in Dashlane and confirm. Download the recovery codes before finishing.
Dashlane shows a setup code alongside the QR code for manual entry. In Sign In, choose Add → Enter Setup Key, set Service to Dashlane and Account to your account name, paste the secret into Key, then tap Add Account. Keep this key private.
Save recovery codes outside your vault
Keep the codes accessible without your phone or Dashlane vault. If you lose the authenticator, recovery can require one code to sign in and another to reset 2FA. Use the web recovery flow, then promptly enable verification with your replacement.
Dashlane can send replacement recovery codes to the phone number registered during setup, except numbers from Singapore, Curaçao, and the Dominican Republic. Save your original codes especially carefully if that restriction applies.
Business accounts and recovery limits
If your professional plan enforces 2FA, your administrator can generate replacement recovery codes. Contact your administrator or Dashlane Support when no usable method remains.
The account recovery key is a separate feature for account access. Do not confuse it with your 2FA recovery codes.
If a code does not work
Make sure the Dashlane entry in Sign In matches the account you are using. Wait for a fresh code, then enter it before it changes. If fresh codes keep failing, check that your iPhone uses automatic date and time.
Keep a working sign-in session and your recovery information available while resolving the problem. Adding an entry to Sign In does not finish enrollment: the service must accept a code and confirm activation.
