SIGN IN · LEGAL
Terms of Use
Effective September 9, 2026
These terms govern your use of the Sign In app and its supporting website. “We,” “us,” and “our” refer to Sign In Inc., the provider of Sign In. By using Sign In, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app or website.
Using Sign In
Sign In generates authentication codes for compatible services. You may use it for accounts you own or are authorized to manage, subject to applicable law and these terms. You must be legally able to agree to these terms or have permission from a parent or guardian where required.
Do not use Sign In to access someone else’s account without authorization, violate another person’s rights, distribute malicious software, or interfere with the app’s operation.
App license and ownership
The app is licensed, not sold. Your App Store download is also subject to the applicable Apple usage rules and Apple Standard End User License Agreement, unless a separate custom license is supplied with the app. These terms supplement, and do not replace, that license.
Sign In and its licensors retain their rights in the software, branding, and website content. You retain your rights in the data you add. Do not redistribute, resell, or modify the app, or reverse engineer it, except as permitted by its license or applicable law.
Your devices and recovery methods
You are responsible for protecting your devices, Apple Account, authentication secrets, and recovery codes. Verify that authentication works with each service after setup and before removing an older device or method.
Keep independent recovery methods for your accounts. Sign In does not hold your authentication data and cannot restore lost secrets, retrieve your passwords, or unlock a third-party account. Deleting data or losing access to your devices and backups may leave you unable to generate codes.
Privacy and optional backup
Our Privacy Policy explains the app’s data practices. Your app data stays on your personal devices and, when optional iCloud backup is enabled, in your own iCloud account, syncing across your iOS devices signed into the same Apple Account. We do not store that data on our servers or have access to it.
You choose whether to enable optional iCloud backup and are responsible for your Apple Account, available storage, and recovery settings. iCloud is provided by Apple under Apple’s terms. We do not guarantee backup availability or successful restoration.
Third-party services and guides
Apple and the services you protect with Sign In operate independently and have their own terms and policies. Their names and trademarks belong to their respective owners. References and links do not imply affiliation or endorsement.
Our setup guides provide general information. Third-party screens, requirements, and recovery procedures can change. Follow the current instructions of the service you are configuring. We do not control its availability, security, or account-recovery decisions.
Updates and availability
We may update, modify, or discontinue the app or website, subject to applicable law. Features and compatibility may change, and updates may require a newer operating system. We do not promise ongoing support for every device or service.
Disclaimer of warranties
To the extent permitted by law, Sign In and its website are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, complete security, or that the app will prevent unauthorized account access.
Nothing in these terms excludes warranties, guarantees, or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from use of, or inability to use, Sign In or its website, including lost profits, lost data, or interruption of business.
These limitations do not exclude or limit liability for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law. Your mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
Ending your use
You may stop using Sign In at any time. Secure alternative authentication and recovery methods before deleting the app or its data. Rights to use the app may end in accordance with its applicable license if you breach that license. Provisions that by their nature should continue, including ownership and lawful liability limitations, survive termination.
Changes and general provisions
We may revise these terms and will post an updated effective date on this page. We will provide further notice and obtain agreement where required by law. If you do not agree to revised terms, stop using Sign In.
If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of the right to enforce it later. Nothing in these terms takes away protections or access to courts provided by applicable law.
