WISE ACCOUNT GUIDE

How to enable 2FA on Wise

Wise supports authenticator codes for eligible accounts. Accounts registered in Singapore, Malaysia, the UAE, or the Philippines are limited to passkeys or Wise’s own app under its published regional rules; this authenticator setup does not apply to those accounts.

Start pairing an authenticator

  1. On Wise’s website or app, open your name in the top corner.
  2. Choose Settings → Security and privacy → 2-step verification.
  3. Under Other verification methods, choose Authenticator app → Start pairing.

Add Wise to Sign In

You can use Sign In, our authenticator app for codes on your iPhone.

  1. With the setup QR code on another screen, open Sign In and tap Add → Scan QR Code.
  2. Scan the code, review the account details, and tap Add Account.
  3. Select Continue in Wise and enter the current six-digit code to finish pairing.

Wise supports manual entry of its setup information. Use the displayed key for enrollment on the same iPhone. In Sign In, choose Add → Enter Setup Key, set Service to Wise and Account to your account name, paste the secret into Key, then tap Add Account. Keep this key private.

Choose a default and keep a fallback

Use Edit default to choose your preferred method. Wise also supports passkeys and native mobile approvals. Text messages and other delivery options depend on your account and region.

Keep another supported method active before replacing a phone. Do not assume Wise issues printable authenticator backup codes.

If your usual method is unavailable

At verification, choose Try another way and use an available alternative. If none works, follow Wise’s official recovery prompts or contact support. Eligible accounts may be offered an identity check; availability varies.

If a code does not work

Make sure the Wise entry in Sign In matches the account you are using. Wait for a fresh code, then enter it before it changes. If fresh codes keep failing, check that your iPhone uses automatic date and time.

Keep a working sign-in session and your recovery information available while resolving the problem. Adding an entry to Sign In does not finish enrollment: the service must accept a code and confirm activation.
