KEEPER ACCOUNT GUIDE

How to enable 2FA on Keeper

Use authenticator codes to protect your Keeper vault account. Store those sign-in codes separately so you can reach them when the vault is locked. Business administrators may control available verification methods.

Open Keeper security settings

  1. In the Web Vault or Desktop App, open your account-email menu.
  2. Choose Settings → Security and enable Two-Factor Authentication.
  3. Select Authenticator App, then Next.

Add Keeper to Sign In

You can use Sign In, our authenticator app for codes on your iPhone.

  1. With the setup QR code on another screen, open Sign In and tap Add → Scan QR Code.
  2. Scan the code, review the account details, and tap Add Account.
  3. Enter the current code in Keeper and select Next. Save the backup codes, then choose I have written these codes down.

Keeper provides a secret key for manual entry. In Sign In, choose Add → Enter Setup Key, set Service to Keeper and Account to your account name, paste the secret into Key, then tap Add Account. Keep this key private.

Save backup codes for recovery

Keep the backup codes securely outside your phone and vault. Enter one at the 2FA prompt when your authenticator is unavailable.

If you have no usable method, contact your Keeper administrator or Keeper Support. Administrators can help reset a managed user’s 2FA. Set up replacement protection promptly after recovery.

Other methods and organization policy

Keeper supports SMS, compatible security keys, and smartwatch verification. A security key may require a backup method for devices where the key is unavailable.

Your administrator can require MFA, limit methods, and control how often verification is requested. Follow those requirements rather than changing them to avoid a code prompt.

If a code does not work

Make sure the Keeper entry in Sign In matches the account you are using. Wait for a fresh code, then enter it before it changes. If fresh codes keep failing, check that your iPhone uses automatic date and time.

Keep a working sign-in session and your recovery information available while resolving the problem. Adding an entry to Sign In does not finish enrollment: the service must accept a code and confirm activation.
