Open Epic’s two-factor settings
- Sign in to your Epic Games account in a browser.
- Open Password and security → Two-Factor Authentication.
- Choose Set up for the third-party authenticator-app method.
Add Epic Games to Sign In
Choose Sign In, our authenticator app, for codes on your iPhone. If Epic shows a QR code on another screen, tap Add → Scan QR Code. If a setup key is offered, use Add → Enter Setup Key instead, label Service as Epic Games and Account with your email, and paste the secret into Key.
Tap Add Account, then enter the current code back on Epic. Confirm that the method becomes active. Epic also sends a confirmation email.
Keep backup codes available
Save the backup codes supplied during authenticator enrollment somewhere you can access without your phone. At sign-in, choose Try another way, select the verification-backup-code option, and enter an unused eight-digit code.
Email, SMS, and recovery
You can enable more than one method. Choose the three-dot menu beside your preferred method, then Make my primary 2FA method.
If your authenticator is unavailable, Try another way → Email Verification can send a code to your account email. SMS availability varies by region. If you also lack email and backup-code access, follow Epic’s account-recovery help.
If a code does not work
Make sure the Epic Games entry in Sign In matches the account you are using. Wait for a fresh code, then enter it before it changes. If fresh codes keep failing, check that your iPhone uses automatic date and time.
Keep a working sign-in session and your recovery information available while resolving the problem. Adding an entry to Sign In does not finish enrollment: the service must accept a code and confirm activation.
