Open two-factor verification
On the website, open your profile and select Settings → Two-factor Verification → Enable two-factor verification.
In the Wealthfront mobile app, tap the person icon, then Security → Two-factor authentication.
Choose the authenticator method and follow Wealthfront’s verification prompts. If already enrolled, use these settings to update your method.
Add Wealthfront to Sign In
Use Sign In, our authenticator app, for codes on your iPhone.
- If the service displays an enrollment QR code on another screen, open Sign In and tap Add → Scan QR Code.
- If it offers a setup key instead, choose Add → Enter Setup Key. Label Service as Wealthfront and Account with your account name, then paste the secret into Key.
- Review the entry and tap Add Account.
- Return to Wealthfront, enter the current code from Sign In when requested, and finish confirmation.
Keep the setup key private. If you only have one iPhone and no manual key is offered, open the enrollment page on a second screen.
Save backup codes
Open Settings → Security and find Backup Codes. Save them securely outside your phone. You can use a saved code if your phone number changes or your verification device is unavailable.
If a backup code cannot restore access, contact Wealthfront through its official contact page.
Text-message verification
Wealthfront also supports verification codes sent by text message. Keep your registered phone number current if you use this method. Two-factor authentication is required and cannot be disabled.
If a code does not work
Make sure the Wealthfront entry in Sign In matches the account you are using. Wait for a fresh code, then enter it before it changes. If fresh codes keep failing, check that your iPhone uses automatic date and time.
Keep a working sign-in session and your recovery information available while resolving the problem. Adding an entry to Sign In does not finish enrollment: the service must accept a code and confirm activation.
